Job Description:

Job Purpose
To lead the planning team providing effective and continuously improving production planning and inventory control. To develop and maintain systems and processes to minimise inventory whilst maximising levels of customer service.

Accountabilities
- Oversee all production schedules to ensure that orders are produced in line with customer requirements, whilst maintaining manufacturing efficiency and optimum inventory levels.
- Responsible for the purchase of raw materials ensuring stocks are kept in line with production schedules minimising both waste and financial outlay.
- To investigate and report on variances on daily/weekly Raw Material stock counts -leading to reduction in Raw Material variances/losses
- Liaise with third party hauliers for sites logistical requirements and support internal stores teams
- To control Bread WIP levels of stock and to minimise waste at all times
- Ensure stock levels at off-site cold stores are maintained to sufficient levels maintaining 100% supply to wholesalers during peak trading seasons
- Liaise daily with Head of Supply Chain to identify any potential capacity constraints due promotional activity/volume uplifts and react accordingly
- To manage Tropos usage in Bakery & Garlic production ensuring all finished goods stock is controlled correctly
- Provide daily/weekly production attainment and sales vs. forecast reports for senior managers and directors.
- Manage holiday, absence and disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policies and procedures
- To work in a safe manner at all times and adhere to the company’s health and safety policy
- To contribute to daily Team meetings, providing updates on planning and discussing any suggestions to improve quality, commercials or other benefits to the company.
- Ensure all employees are encouraged to reach their maximum potential by continuous assessment of performance and development needs
- Encourage and facilitate appropriate training to meet current and future needs.
- Drives improvement in Department performance through the efficient planning of production.

Qualifications/Experience/Technical Skills
- Graduate/HND
- At least 5 years FMCG manufacturing experience, ideally with short shelf life products
- Advanced IT skills
- Strong organisational skills;
- High degree of accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
- Dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic
- Strong problem solving & analytical ability at a tactical level.
- Excellent verbal, written & numerical skills.
