Job Description:

We are recruiting for experienced Aluminium foundry operatives to join my prestigious client based in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Dies Casting and the Foundry environment.


To ensure that dies and ancillary production equipment are delivered to the manufacturing cells and are prepared to a standard which will allow optimum performance in terms of both quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare dies efficiently and effectively so that they are available to suit production plan.
- Agree weekly forward production plan with the Foundry Manager.
- Present dies in the right place for production as specified within any process documentation.
- Respond to urgent production priorities as they arise.
- Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload where necessary.
- Assist foundry operators when requested to do so.
- Catalogue all dies and storage locations for easy identification and retrieval.
- Identify and record any tooling damage or deterioration for report to the Foundry Manager.
- Maintain press clipping tools in a safe and effective manner.
- Operate in line with Company health and safety policy, statutory legislation and Company procedures.
- Communicate with departmental colleagues effectively and courteously.
- Maintain the required standards of housekeeping.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
- Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
- Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by your line manager.

Skills & Competencies
- Previous relevant experience of foundry casting and tooling processes
- Ability to carry out minor repairs to tooling using hand or power tools
- Basic understanding of hydraulics that operate die tooling
- Ability to use appropriate measuring instruments
- Forklift truck driver licence

Academic & Qualifications
- Full time served apprenticeship or time served in a die casting environment
