Job Description:

My client based in Bedford Town Centre requires a Production Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team immediately!

As Production Systems Engineer you will require to engage with the design development teams, and external equipment suppliers. You will be responsible for equipment design, development, validation and maintenance to ensure the highest product quality is controlled. You will be skilled in hardware and software, capable of providing technical guidance to ensure Production Systems are delivered in-line with project deadlines and suitable for manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities:
1. Design & document, construct, source and maintain production equipment.
2. Plan and perform Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning of equipment.
3. Draft and maintain relevant documentation in line with quality system.
4. Perform in-house calibrations & maintenance as planned, keeping accurate records.
5. Identify and source critical spare parts and routine maintenance stocks.
6. Monitor process performance and suggest improvements to existing product / equipment design.
7. Works within a cross functional team and provides guidance on DFM, DFT, DFQ.
8. Apply a methodical structured approach to problem solving production issues.

Person Specification:
Hold strong communication skills, be a team player with the ability to make clear decisions and lead in your field of expertise. Flexible work ethic, providing support to other business functions as required. A committed enthusiastic individual able travel between sites outside the UK.

Hold a formal engineering qualification in electrical & electronic design. Ideally degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, scientific or other related subject. HNC/D will be considered in both cases demonstrable experience is essential.

Must be able to create and interpret equipment specification, determine suitable measurement resolutions, tolerances and sample rates. Read and prepare electrical and mechanical schematics.

Ideally having experience of working in a test development role and knowledge of technologies such as PXI, GPIB, J-TAG, ATMEL, PIC, Z-Wave, TTL, CMOS, RF, HI-POT, C++, C$, C#, VB, dotNet. PLC systems programming experience using Mitsubishi, Siemens, Wago or equivalent.
Have experience and working knowledge of NI software LabVIEW™, able to produce professional functional test programs to planned time-scales with efficient development techniques.

Have a minimum of 5 year's experience in the field of electrical hardware design relating to manufacturing systems. You will ideally have a clear understanding of factory acceptance testing and measurement uncertainty.
