The Challenge

We have been supplying Smyths Toys for 3 years sharing supply with other recruitment providers. Due to the competitive geographical location of the site and the sharp rise of requirements during peak periods, we are faced with the challenge of sourcing the best suitable high volume candidates in the UK’s fastest growing market.

During the peak periods of business, the available numbers of suitable quality staff is squeezed to maximum capacity and ultimately could have had an impact of volume orders leaving the Smyths Toys distribution centre.

We like a challenge so when Smyths Toys approached us with their forecasted plans and targets for peak, we stepped into gear and put our plans into play.

The Solution

As soon as we took over the contract in 2015 we immediately set about embedding our team in Smyths Toys culture and adapting to the new site and setup of both warehouse and web operations. We took ownership of Smyths Toys recruitment needs by tailoring a specific induction and implementation of staff through various means of service. Our account manager has first-hand contact with the Smyths Toys representatives to allow consistent communication between the office, warehouse, web pick and the Quest Employment local branches.

The Quest Employment team have a daily presence onsite to ensure the smooth running of the account and pride ourselves on our honest “can do” approach to all tasks. Our key performance indicators can closely monitor the fulfilment of bookings. We can use this information to feedback trends within our local workforce saving the Smyths Toys internal management team valuable time.

We started out supplying Smyths Toys with staff on warehouse goods in/out bulk picking but we now supply all functions of the site becoming an integral part of their business, supplying staff in web, re-work and office functions.
