Meat Production Operatives

​PRODUCTION OPERATIVES – SPALDING
£13.00 per hour | Monday to Friday | 4 weeks guaranteed work

We are looking for 10–20 reliable Production Operatives to start ASAP from Monday 5th October at a busy beef and pork processing / abattoir site in Spalding.

This is not a light packing role, so please read the details properly before applying.

The Role

You will be working within a busy meat processing environment, supporting different areas of production depending on where you are needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Trimming meat using knives

• Picking and packing meat products

• End-of-line packing

• Handling and packing large joints of meat

• Lifting products weighing approximately 10–15kg

• Placing packed meat onto trays

• Working at pace as part of a production team

• Following strict hygiene, food safety and health & safety procedures

• Working within an abattoir / slaughterhouse environment

Hours & Pay

Monday to Friday
Start time: 5:45am
Finish: approximately 3:00pm–5:00pm, depending on production

£13.00 per hour
Overtime paid at the same flat hourly rate.

You will have a guaranteed weekly shift for approximately 4 weeks.

Free Transport

We are providing FREE transport to and from the site from:

• Peterborough

• Boston

So you do not need your own vehicle if you can get to one of the agreed collection points.

What You’ll Need

• You must be comfortable working with raw meat

• You must be comfortable working within an abattoir / slaughterhouse

• You need to be physically fit and able to regularly handle 10–15kg

• Reliability is essential — these are guaranteed shifts and we need people who will turn up

• You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

• Previous food production, meat processing, warehouse or factory experience would be useful, but attitude and reliability are just as important

Induction

A full onsite induction will take place before starting work and will last approximately 5–7 hours.

What You Might Not Like

We would rather be honest than dress the job up.

This is a physically demanding role, you will be working with raw meat and you will be based in an operational slaughterhouse environment.

If that isn't for you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that — but this probably won't be the right job.
