Job description

Quest Employment looking for operations manager in recycling industry. It's stable and ongoing client with Quest, with oustanding working relationships over last couple of years.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of hazardous waste collection, processing, and disposal.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.

  • Supervise operational staff, drivers, and site personnel.

  • Develop and maintain safe working procedures.

  • Monitor operational performance and costs.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.

  • Coordinate maintenance of vehicles, plant/equipment, and facilities.

  • Manage customer service issues and operational scheduling.

  • Liaise with regulators, contractors, and customers.

  • Liaise with Technical Sales team to ensure end to end completeness 

  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and operational management systems.

Qualifications

  • Industry related training including WAMITAB/NEBOSH

Experience

  • Experience in waste management, environmental services, logistics, or industrial operations.

  • Previous management or supervisory experience.

  • Experience working with hazardous materials and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Mainly site work with occasional office duties
