The Role

If you think a Transport Manager’s job is just routing vehicles and ticking compliance boxes this isn’t for you

This is a proper leadership role

You will be running the transport operation day to day - but more importantly you will be getting the best out of drivers and not just managing them on a spreadsheet.  You will keep a tight grip on costs, without wrecking service, making sure new customers are onboarded properly not chaotically and spotting problems early and fixing them before they become that issue everyone talks about.

You will be visible, hands on and involved - not hiding behind a desk while things fall apart outside!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Leading and developing the transport team with a strong focus on driver engagement and retention

  • Planning routes resources and capacity so things actually run smoothly

  • Taking ownership of transport costs spotting efficiencies without cutting corners

  • Managing the transport side of new customer onboarding getting it right first time

  • Working closely with customers and internal teams to keep operations stable

Ensuring full compliance across operator licence tachographs and driver hours

  • Using KPIs and data to drive improvements not just reporting them and moving on

  • Dealing with issues early properly and like an adult

What You Will Need

  • Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport role

  • International CPC non negotiable

  • A leadership style that drivers actually respect

  • Experience onboarding customers or managing service changes

  • The ability to think ahead not just react when things go wrong

What You Might Not Like

  • This is not a sit back and maintain role you will be expected to improve things

  • If you prefer hiding behind emails instead of having real conversations with drivers it will show

  • You will have accountability which is great if you are good not so great if you are not

Why It Is Worth It

  • You will be part of a business where people actually matter not just talked about in meetings

  • You will have real influence over how transport runs

  • You will not be micromanaged but you will be trusted to deliver

  • It is stable long term and not run on short term panic decisions
