Job description

Quest Employment are recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to work for our client in the DE24 area. Successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient execution of day-to-day warehouse activities to support operational performance and customer service.

Shift Pattern:

Tuesday - Saturday

2pm-10pm

Pay Rate:

£13.57 - 2pm-8pm

£16.58 - 8pm-10pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out warehouse duties including picking, packing, receiving, dispatching, and replenishing stock

  • Complete tasks accurately, safely, and within productivity targets.

  • Handle products carefully to prevent damage and maintain quality.

  • Work across different warehouse areas as required by the business.

  • Adapt to changing workloads, priorities, and shift demands.

  • Take part in training to develop new skills and operate equipment.

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and use equipment responsibly.

  • Report any hazards, near misses, accidents, or issues promptly.

  • Maintain accuracy when scanning, counting, and processing orders.

  • Identify and report stock discrepancies, errors, or damaged goods.

  • Use warehouse systems and scanners correctly, ensuring all information is recorded accurately and in real time.

  • Work effectively with colleagues and supervisors, communicating clearly about progress and any issues.

  • Support a positive team environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Training

Please note that your first two weeks of training will take place at an alternative warehouse location in the DE74 postcode area before transferring to the main Derby site.

Requirements

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Warehouse or logistics experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment is an advantage.

  • Able to follow processes and instructions accurately.

  • Good attention to detail and basic IT skills.

  • Experience using warehouse systems, scanners, or MHE equipment is beneficial.

  • Problem-solving and stock control experience is an advantage.

  • A positive team player with good communication skills.

  • Reliable, flexible, and willing to learn.

  • Able to work across different tasks and support colleagues when needed.
