The Role

This is where you move from leading a team… to owning the operation.

You’ll be responsible for making sure the warehouse runs properly. Not just “busy” - but efficient, safe, and hitting targets consistently. You’ll be managing people, processes, and performance all at once.

It’s a step up in accountability. You’re not just overseeing tasks anymore, you’re responsible for making sure everything comes together and delivers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing day to day warehouse operations across inbound, outbound and dispatch

• Managing team leaders and operatives to ensure performance targets are met

• Planning and allocating labour to meet workload and deadlines

• Ensuring orders are picked, packed and despatched on time

• Driving health and safety standards across the warehouse

• Monitoring performance, KPIs and reporting accuracy

• Holding team meetings and setting clear expectations

• Supporting, training and developing your team including appraisals

• Managing absence, holidays and general people management

• Dealing with issues quickly including operational and people challenges

• Working closely with clients and attending performance meetings

• Identifying areas for improvement and driving operational changes

What You’ll Need

• Strong experience within a warehouse or distribution environment

• Proven experience managing teams in a fast paced operation

• Good understanding of warehouse processes, KPIs and performance management

• Experience dealing with employee relations issues and people management

• Confidence communicating with both teams and clients

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Good IT skills including Excel and warehouse systems

• A proactive approach with a focus on improving how things are done
