Job description
Warehouse Team Leader
📍 Coventry

The Role
This is where you step up from doing the job to actually running it.
You’ll be leading a team on shift, making sure work gets done properly, safely, and on time. It’s hands on, fast paced, and you’ll be right in the middle of the operation, not watching it from the side-lines.
You’ll be the link between the team and management, keeping things moving, solving problems, and setting the standard for how things should be done day to day
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading a team of warehouse operatives across inbound, outbound and general warehouse activity
Tracking performance, productivity and hours to make sure targets are me
Supporting the Supervisor with planning workload and labour requirements
Keeping operations running smoothly across picking, packing, loading and dispatch
Training new starters and supporting ongoing development within the team
Maintaining safety standards and challenging unsafe behaviour when needed
Supporting stock control, stock rotation and inventory checks
Ensuring equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Handling day to day issues on shift and escalating where needed
Supporting rework, repack and general operational tasks as required
Leading by example and setting the standard on shift
What You’ll Need
Previous warehouse experience within a fast-paced environment
Some leadership or supervisory experience or ready to step up into it
Confidence managing people and giving clear direction
Good understanding of warehouse operations and processes
Comfortable working with targets and KPIs
Experience using warehouse equipment such as MHE is a strong advantage
Basic IT skills including Excel and general systems
Strong work ethic and a hands on approach
What You Might Not Like
You’re not off the tools completely, this is a hands on role
You’ll be dealing with people challenges as well as operational ones
It’s a fast paced environment where priorities can change quickly
You’ll be accountable for your team’s performance
What To Do Next
If you’re ready to step up, take ownership, and lead from the front rather than just follow instructions, this is a great opportunity!
