Electrical/Mechanical Engineer

Quest Employment are proud to announce the role of a Mechanical Engineering in Rushden.

The perfect candidate for this role will be eager in career progression and furthering their current knowledge and understanding in the industry. The successful candidate should be confident in mechanical engineering and have an understanding in reading electrical component diagrams. Given our client based is one the largest and leading organisation in the UK specialising in the servicing, maintenance and repairing of cutting machines.

With the success and plans for expansion on site the team are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the skilled and dedicated team. Joining such a team will be advantageous to the candidates to develop existing skills and gain further knowledge to escalate their career to the next level.

As a Mechanical Engineer some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the team in building and refurbishing imported cutting machinery that is required within manufacture.
  • Performing diagnostics on machinery to highlight areas of repair and have them reconditioned to company and safety standards.
  • Working on new machinery and the rebuild of older models from mechanical and electrical aspects in the factory workshop.
  • Larger machines may require cranes to manoeuvre them, any form of handling equipment or specialist tools will be supplied onsite.
  • Rewiring basic controls panels to ensure health and safety measures are met.

Personal skills required for this role:

  • The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is a requirement.
  • An electrical bias is preferred but conversant with hydraulic and mechanical equipment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, self - motivation, willingness to learn and the ability to provide solutions to problems should they arise.
  • Keen to work on and with industrial equipment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the industry required, preferably from a maintenance background with electrical knowledge.

Advantageous skills include:

  • Knowledge of safety controls on industrial machinery
  • Good communication skills and people skills
  • Bench fitting, machining and fabrication experience would all be skills beneficial to the position.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 07.30am to 17:00pm.

Friday 07.30am – 11.30am – *hours can be extended based on candidates workload if needed

Overtime is paid after 40 hours.
