We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk / Administrator to join our team in Leicester. This is a hands-on administrative role within our shipping and logistics operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customer and wholesale orders are processed accurately, packed and shipped on time, and tracked through to successful delivery. The role would suit someone who is organised, computer literate, confident using Excel, and comfortable working in a busy fashion environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential. The Role As Shipping Clerk / Administrator, you will support the day-to-day shipping operation, working closely with customers, warehouses, carriers, suppliers and internal teams. We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Sign Services and Traffic Management Operative to join their Operational Highways team. This is a practical, varied role where every day can be different, and where your work will have a direct impact on the safety of road users, the workforce and the wider community. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team delivering a customer-focused and best-value service across Leicestershire, with occasional work in surrounding counties. What you’ll be doing You’ll play an important role in delivering, installing, maintaining and collecting temporary traffic management signs and equipment. You’ll also support wider highway maintenance and construction activities where temporary traffic management is required. Your responsibilities will include: Erecting and removing temporary traffic management signs and equipment safely and correctly. Delivering, collecting and storing temporary signage and equipment between depots and worksites. Helping plan and schedule resources and routes to ensure an efficient service. Reading plans and drawings relating to traffic management. Installing and maintaining temporary traffic management systems in accordance with Chapter 8 and the Code of Practice for Safety at Street Works and Road Works. As a lead operative, you’ll help make sure that colleagues understand and follow health and safety requirements, including the correct use of PPE, safe lifting and handling, and temporary traffic management procedures. You’ll also help less experienced operatives develop their skills and knowledge, providing guidance and support and helping temporary staff feel part of the team. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently when required, using your initiative and responding quickly where changes are needed to keep a site safe. What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone with practical highways, civil engineering or traffic management experience who is confident working outdoors and as part of a team. Ideally, you’ll have: NVQ Level 2 in Highways Maintenance or a similar qualification. Skilled Road Worker Trades Test Assessment. NRSWA Operative qualification. National Highways Sector Scheme 12B, 12C, 12D (T1/T2) and 12D (T5). A valid driving licence. A valid Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) licence, CPC training and current DQC card.
