​Sales Account Manager

Location: Bedfordshire (On-site)
Direct Reports: 3

Purpose of the Role

This is an ideal position for someone commercially sharp, relationship-led and hungry to drive growth. You’ll lead a small team, manage existing accounts, win new business and bring fresh ideas to push the commercial function forward.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Growth

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing customers, ensuring a high level of service and retention.

  • Identify opportunities to save customers time and money, adding real value and strengthening trust.

  • Actively spot upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Drive new business activity through outreach, meetings and consistent pipeline management.

  • Take full ownership of sales forecasting, reporting and pipeline accuracy.

  • Build a clear commercial plan to increase revenue across the customer base.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, support and motivate a team of three, ensuring clear expectations and strong performance.

  • Oversee day-to-day activity, ensuring the team delivers at pace and with professionalism.

Commercial Strategy & Campaigns

  • Bring fresh ideas for campaigns, marketing angles and business development initiatives.

  • Analyse customer trends and commercial behaviours to maximise revenue opportunities.

  • Represent the business with confidence during customer visits, meetings and presentations.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in account management

  • Strong sales acumen and business development experience.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly with both new and existing customers.

  • Strong people-management experience, ideally leading a small team.

  • Confident, proactive and hungry to drive commercial growth.

  • Creative approach to outreach, campaigns and customer engagement.

  • Experience within waste, environmental services, logistics or a similar sector.
