Are you just starting out in your kitchen career and looking for the perfect place to learn, grow, and thrive? We’re on the hunt for a keen and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our buzzing kitchen team at a beautifully refurbished pub, hotel, and wedding venue in Bedford.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen where no two days are the same – whether you're helping prep for a busy restaurant service, a wedding banquet, or a conference lunch, you’ll be learning from experienced chefs and working with the best seasonal ingredients.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting the kitchen team with food prep and service across all sections
• Learning key culinary skills and techniques on the job
• Maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation in the kitchen
• Getting involved in menu changes (we update 4–5 times a year!)
• Being a reliable and proactive member of a close-knit brigade
What We’re Looking For:
• A passion for food and a genuine interest in developing your skills
• A great work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
• Some basic kitchen experience or formal culinary training is ideal, but not essential
• A team player who can take direction and stay calm under pressure
